World Cup fans who want to bring drugs like marijuana, cocaine and heroin with them to watch matches in Russia this summer are in luck – as long as they have a doctor’s note saying it’s legal.
Under the guidelines set out by the Russia-led Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), travelers are allowed to bring banned substances like narcotics and psychotropics into the EEU’s member states as long as they declare drugs them at customs and have a doctor’s note written in Russian. Although FIFA’s stadium regulations prohibit drug use, they do stipulate that fans can carry drugs as long as they have a prescription (in English or Russian) and the substances are still in their original packaging.
