In what can only be described as an act of God, 29-year-old Tim Tebow hit a home run during his first professional at-bat for the New York Mets.
It didn’t take long for Tebow Time to arrive on the baseball diamond, as the outfielder mashed a tater on the first pitch he saw during Wednesday’s instructional league game against the St. Louis Cardinals in Florida.
Tebow — who has played in intrasquad games against his teammates — smacked the dinger off 22-year-old John Kilichowski, who was 12 when Tebow won his first NCAA championship.

With all due respect to Tebow, though, his homer doesn’t even come close to being the homer of the week. That award goes to the longball Florida Marlin Dee Gordon hit on Monday after his teammate Jose Fernandez’s tragic and sudden death this past weekend.
