Months after his father did, LeBron James Jr. – who goes by Bronny – made his basketball debut in Los Angeles.
Like his dad, Bronny wore No. 23 when he hit the court in LA. Unlike his dad, Bronny won his game.
In his LA debut for Santa Monica Crossroads’ eighth-grade basketball team, Bronny scored 27 points in a win over Culver City Middle School as his father watched.
Two of those 27 points came on Bronny’s first dunk in a real game.

Afterward, the senior James said he was proud of what his 14-year-old son was able to do while wearing his number.
“I don’t know how long it’s going to last, but it definitely made me feel proud,” James said. “My kid has his own personality, he has his own DNA. We share the same name but he has his own path. But it was cool when he came downstairs the other day and showed me that he was wearing 23, and then my youngest son came to me and showed me that he was wearing 6.”
In his LA debut, James scored 26 points (one fewer than Bronny) in a 128-119 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers.
