A joke host Peyton Manning told at the ESPY Awards last night didn’t go over too well with its target.
Referring to the U.S. gymnastics team’s dominance at last year’s Olympic Games, Manning deadpanned to the audience that NBA Finals MVP Kevin Durant “told me he wants to play for them next year.” (Durant, of course, was hounded by fans and the press for joining the already dominant Golden State Warriors; the team went on roundly beat the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2017 NBA Finals.)
When the camera panned over to Durant, though, he wasn’t smiling. In fact, he looked rather annoyed. He also tweeted this:

(For all of you non-emoji-using Luddites, the one Durant used is known as “expressionless face.”)
