Look out future Chicago hoodlums: You could have a 6′ 2″ former NFL player knocking down your door soon enough.
Ex–Chicago Bears cornerback Charles Tillman is in training to become a FBI agent, according to the Chicago Tribune citing unnamed sources, which included a “high-ranking law enforcement” official. The FBI refused to comment. Tillman, 36, was a Bear for 12 of 13 professional football seasons, putting in a single season with the Carolina Panthers.
Nicknamed “Peanut,” Tillman was best known for his ball-stripping abilities, collecting 44 forced fumbles over his career. There was even a nickname for his ball-stripping move: “The Peanut Punch.”
Per the Tribune, Tillman went to the University of Louisiana-Lafayette, where he earned a degree in criminal justice. He’s also a military brat: His father, Donald Tillman Jr., was an Army sergeant.
Interestingly, Tillman’s former teammate Josh Norman, also a cornerback, appeared in a segment during Week 1 of the NFL season on Fox, training with the FBI in Quantico, Virginia. Tillman is a former Fox “NFL Kickoff” employee. Happy coincidence or inside job?
