Despite the New England Patriots’ 41-33 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LII, there are no signs that Tom Brady is hanging up his pads. During the media interviews following the game, Brady spat out the typical answers of a losing quarterback: “you try to win and sometimes you lose,” “if you’re not in the game, you don’t have a chance to win” and “it sucks.” But he also got snarky when talking about getting sacked by Brandom Graham with 2:14 left in the game. “I knew they had a good rush,” Brady said according to Sports Illustrated. “They made a good play. They made a good play at the right time. They made one good play at the right time.”
But despite the bitterness, there is no way the Super Bowl LI MVP is ending his time with the NFL on that note. Team president Jonathan Kraft said earlier this week that Brady has “earned the right” to decide when to retire. Brady told Jim Gray before the Super Bowl that he would be playing in the 2018 season win or lose, and during his interview with Gray after the game, he said, “Thank you for all your friendship and support and I look forward to doing this [again] shortly.”
