As any man worth his weight in T-shirt oil rags can tell you, there’s a certain satisfaction that comes with recycling. With rescuing the discarded. With giving the discarded new purpose.

Doing just that – and giving you a stylish method of gear totin’ in the process – NY-based Sword & Plough, crafting handsome bags from military surplus fabrics, now available for pre-order.

Founded by two young lasses from a West Point military family (and taking their name from the Book of Isaiah), S&P offers three rugged satchels of olive-hued canvas, Gore-Tex and heavy-duty leather:

Each satchel is hand-sewn by a non-profit military veteran organization. Less waste, more jobs for vets.

S&P also stocks iPad and iPhone sleeves, eco-leather key fobs and house-brand tees, all sustainably made by the troops and built to last.

That is – with a purpose.
