There are some things in this life that never get old. Things, gentlemen, you’ll never tire of. Call ‘em … classics.
And that, in a short drive, is the direction British carmaker Jaguar Land Rover is taking its Jaguar Land Rover Heritage division, announcing this week it’s rebranding to Jaguar Land Rover Classic.
The Classic Division will continue to provide top-down restoration for its classic makes, as well as services and parts to its existing classic car owner clientele. The company claims the name change better reflects the brand’s “capabilities and expertise.”
There is, however, one big change. For non-owners, in particular.
To make its vintage models more accessible, the Jag Land plans to host Classic Drive events where motorists will be allowed to test drive some of the cars in Jaguar Land Rover’s official collection, which features vehicles like pre-war SS models and XK 120 sportscars.
“We aim to build an even more successful future by celebrating and nurturing Jaguar and Land Rover’s past,” says brand director Tim Hannig.
If they need any help nurturing an old Jaguar or Land Rover back to health, they have volunteers in us.
