Rather than the familiar 12-hour clock with minutes and seconds ticking by endlessly, the British-designed, Swiss-made Horizon wristwatch from Optik Instruments shows your day as an entire circle, with a handless interface that — while it may take a little re-learning — becomes just as readable at a glance as standard tickers.
In short: the red line is your timekeeper now. The dial visably splits the morning hours and evening hours, while a central disc rotates just once a day, where time is read from a single red line.
Looking something like a vintage compass and smart pocket watch had a baby, there will be four versions of the new design available at launch, each with their own aesthetic from refined to sporty to techy.
The Horizon goes live on Kickstarter on February 27th at an early bird price of $280. If you want to set yourself a reminder you can sign up for updates on their site.
