We don’t know if they’ll be riding in the Echo-1, but it appears as if the stars of the original Ghostbusters will be along for the ride when the second sequel to the classic film arrives in theaters.
Directed by Jason Reitman, Ghostbusters 3 will feature original stars Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Sigourney Weaver and possibly others reprising their roles from the original two films. “It’s going to be crazy working with the guys again.” Weaver told Parade.
Reitman is the son of original Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman. His version will have nothing to do with 2016 all-female series reboot film which starred Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones.
“This is the next chapter in the original franchise,” Reitman said of his upcoming film. “It is not a reboot. What happened in the ’80s happened in the ’80s, and this is set in the present day.”
Ghostbusters 3 should begin haunting theaters next summer.
