The ‘Hammock Floor’ Is the Hottest New Amenity at Luxury Resorts

Actress Kate Beckinsale doesn’t take luxury trends lying down. Well, in this case she does.

RealClearLife recently took a look at the action star’s stunning beach regimen, and readers may have noticed her lounging on what looked like a giant fishnet. Actually, notes Bloomberg, that’s the latest must-have amenity at luxury resort hotels: the hammock floor.

Instead of getting wrapped up in the traditional hammock that is slung between a pair of trees, high-end resorts are installing hammock floors attached to above-water bungalow decks or patios; or as cocktail bar lounge add-ons. As Bloomberg explains, hammock floors are meant to ape the seating arrangements on a catamaran.
