The Most Beautiful Bridges Across America

The Library of Congress celebrated years of sharing photos by selecting stunning images of bridges.

Back in 2016, the Library of Congress decided to celebrate eight years of sharing pictures on Flickr by posting one picture a day for eight days. The pictures were all of, oddly enough, bridges. Why bridges? When the Library of Congress started sharing photos in Flickr back in 2008, they also helped Flickr launch The Commons, which has grown to connect historical and contemporary photographs from more than 100 different archives, libraries and museums all over the world. So for the Library of Congress, bridges represent building global connections in the digital world through sharing historical images online. People can still add to the bridges collection and you can check out some of shots below.
