Johnny Depp’s Notorious B.I.G. Movie Ripped From Release Schedule
The movie was set to premiere on Sept. 7 but has been shelved indefinitely.
Just one month before “City of Lies” is set to hit theaters, Variety is reporting that Global Road Entertainment is pulling the Johnny Depp-led flick from its release schedule.
Also starring Forrest Whittaker, the movie follows the LAPD detective who investigated the shooting death of Biggie Smalls. Though there hasn’t been an official clarification on why exactly the movie is being shelved, The Guardian reports that “the film had a difficult production process with Depp allegedly assaulting a crew member.” Former location manager Greg “Rocky” Brooks alleges that Depp punched him twice after verbally assaulting him, and Brooks claims that he was fired “when he wouldn’t agree not to sue.”
This comes on the heels of Depp’s other financial and personal misfortunes, which include the settlement of a $25m fraud cause against his former business managers. He’s also been accused of domestic violence by his ex-wife Amber Heard.
