On Friday night, countless musicians and music fans were shocked by the news that longtime Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins had died at the age of 50 in Bogotá, Colombia. Now, authorities have released more information on Hawkins’s death — though the cause of death itself remains unknown.
People reports that the Attorney General’s Office of Colombia released the results of its toxicology report for Hawkins. Among the results, translated into English from the original Spanish: “The toxicology test on urine from Taylor Hawkins’ body preliminarily found 10 types of substances, including: THC, tricyclic antidepressants, benzodiazepines, and opioids.”
That’s a potentially wide-ranging list of substances, and could refer to a lot of different things.
According to the office’s posts via social media, the National Institute of Legal Medicine is continuing to investigate the matter and determine a cause of death. The nation’s Attorney General is also looking into Hawkins’s death.
