Every year, Trader Joe’s asks its customers, “If you were to spend the rest of your life on a deserted island, which nine Trader Joe’s products would you take with you?” The cult favorite grocery store’s question garnered more than 18,000 responses this year, and we wholeheartedly support the item that came out on top. TJ’s Chili & Lime Flavored Rolled Corn Tortilla Chips was the number one overall pick for deserted island food. Although the crunchy, savory delights are void of nutritional value, at least they would bring happiness to anyone faring a Cast Away situation.
In the overall favorite category, TJ’s Hashbrowns, Steamed Chicken Soup Dumplings, Everything but the Bagel Sesame Seasoning Blend and Chocolate Croissants rounded out the top five. In the drinks category, Trader Joe’s Sparkling Honeycrisp Apple Juice Beverage topped the list, and TJ’s Cheddar Cheese with Caramelized Onions was the winner of the cheese group. But to our dismay, the grocery chain’s 1,000 Day Gouda didn’t even make the top five.
People are obsessed with Trader’s Joe’s entrees, and Butter Chicken was number one, followed by Chicken Tikka Masala. Scented Candles won the household category, and bananas beat out everything else in the produce aisle. As for dessert, Trader Joe’s Hold the Cone! Mini Ice Cream Cones was everyone’s favorite sweet treat.
