Pamela Anderson has made Kim Kardashian’s infamous 72-day marriage to Kris Humphries look like a long and meaningful union, calling off her marriage to Jon Peters after just 12 days.

“I have been moved by the warm reception to Jon’s and my union,” the former Baywatch actress said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. “We would be very grateful for your support as we take some time apart to re-evaluate what we want from life and from one another.”

Anderson and Peters, the film mogul known for producing Barbara Streisand’s version of A Star is Born in 1976 and Batman in 1989, tied the knot back in January during a ceremony in Malibu, California. In the statement, however, Anderson said the wedding was never formalized.

The newlyweds dated more than three decades ago before reuniting romantically last year. “There are beautiful girls everywhere. I could have my pick, but — for 35 years — I’ve only wanted Pamela,” Peters told THR in an almost sweet (but ultimately very eye-roll-inducing) statement after the wedding celebration. “She makes me wild — in a good way. She inspires me. I protect her and treat her the way she deserves to be treated.”

Anderson, for her part, offered her post-nuptials statement in the form of verse, presenting THR with a poem including the lines:

“He’s been there all along.
Never failed me –
I’m ready now
he’s ready too”

Both bride and groom had previously been married four times.

Apparently the fifth time wasn’t the charm, and Peters now joins Anderson’s catalogue of famous exes including Tommy Lee, Kid Rock and Rick Salomon.

“Life is a journey and love is a process,” Anderson said in her post-split statement. “With that universal truth in mind, we have mutually decided to put off the formalization of our marriage certificate and put our faith in the process. Thank you for respecting our privacy.”
