How does one of the globe’s most infamous — and anonymous — artists spend his 2021? If you’re Banksy, you stay busy, pandemic or not. Earlier this year, he created a striking mural on the side of Reading Gaol, resulting in a work that invoked both Oscar Wilde and Bob Ross. And now, with the summer in full swing, Banksy has done what so many other people have done — ventured to the seaside.

Writing at The Guardian, Vanessa Thorpe has details on the artist’s latest installation, which found him heading to the coast of England. Banksy recently updated his Instagram with details of his summer retreat, dubbed A Great British Spraycation.

Thorpe offered details on where Banksy ventured to, including “Lowestoft in Suffolk and Gorleston, Great Yarmouth, Cromer and King’s Lynn, all in Norfolk.” And the paintings include a host of wildlife, including a rat reclining in a beachside chair with a martini glass and an utterly massive seagull, captured in flight.

In keeping with the beachside theme, Banksy’s video also features a host of spray cans stored within a cooler. And the range of pieces on display showcase an impressive range of Banksy’s art, from a couple dancing to accordion music to the aforementioned rat in repose. And their presence serves as a reminder of an important fact — even internationally renowned artists need a trip to the beach sometimes.
