The National Parks: America’s best idea.
Running marathons though the National Park: America’s second-best idea (maybe).
Technically, that second idea actually belongs to Vacation Races, a company that was founded in 2012 and initially offered customers the opportunity to run through three of the National Parks.
Now, five years later, the company has substantially beefed up its offerings and now has more than 20 National Parks in its arsenal. Offering half-marathons, ultra-marathons and three-day trailfests, Vacation Races will let you run through the Everglades, Grand Canyon. Yosemite, Zion and many other parks with a crew of like-minded individuals.
Start times and dates for the specific parks vary, but Vacation Races usually offers at least one race per month, with a few exceptions. Also, for those who can’t make it to one of the parks to run, there’s also a virtual racing option that lets you race, bib and all, from wherever you are.
