Though Facebook is the Big Four tech company getting the most political headlines at the moment, President Trump is much more concerned about Amazon, according to Axios. The businessmen and real estate elites from whom Trump gets advice see Amazon as a lethal threat, and tell Trump that the giant is destroying malls and retail stores. Trump has no plan for taking on Amazon, though he apparently feels hostility toward CEO Jeff Bezos, particularly because of Bezos’ ownership of The Washington Post. Trump, according to the Axios story, holds the persistent and incorrect belief that the U.S. Postal Service is losing money because of Amazon. As for Facebook, Trump isn’t paying much attention to recent headlines, and appreciates the platform for giving him direct access to his supporters.
