Trevor Noah hailed teachers fighting for fair pay on Wednesday night, and said that the need for educators is even more clear in light of comments about slavery recently made by recording artist Kanye West.
“Without good teachers, you get college dropouts who say things like this,” Noah said, before rolling a clip of West telling TMZ interviewers he thought 400 years of slavery “sounded like a choice” to him.
“No Kanye, slavery is not a choice. Going blonde is a choice,” Noah quipped, showing a picture of West with bleached hair. “Both are terrible, but one is easier to undo.”
