Top White House adviser Ivanka Trump told the news site Axios this week that she doesn’t agree with her father on everything, including the notion that journalists are “the enemy of the people” — but late-night comedian Stephen Colbert isn’t impressed.
“She came admirably close to displaying empathy,” Colbert admitted of Trump’s stance on family separation, which she said she’s “very vehemently against.” But Colbert wasn’t impressed with her defense of the media, or her father’s tweet that came later about the topic.
They asked my daughter Ivanka whether or not the media is the enemy of the people. She correctly said no. It is the FAKE NEWS, which is a large percentage of the media, that is the enemy of the people!

“Trump supporters, when you see the media at the rally, make sure you violently threaten only a ‘large percentage of them,’” Colbert quipped.
