If all work and no good horror film festivals is making you a dull boy, we’ve got a fix for ya.
To appease fans of Stanley Kubrick, Stephen King and hedge mazes, the first-ever Overlook Film Festival will kick off at the Timberline Lodge in Oregon on April 27th.
Set at the location that was used as the exterior setting for the Overlook Hotel in The Shining, the four-day fest will present interactive activities, experiential events and new and classic films. How the event — which counts has Elijah Wood, director Joe Dante and Alamo Drafthouse CEO Tim League on its advisory board — will jibe with the existing Stanley Film Festival is unclear.
“We’re so grateful to the Timberline Lodge for providing such a gorgeous, iconic venue in the beautiful location of Mt. Hood, Oregon, where our unique, experiential celebration of all things genre can thrive,” organizer Landon Zakheim told Variety.
More details should be forthcoming, but whatever they are, try not to rent Room 237.
