Ex-Giants running back Tiki Barber is joining a New York institution of a very different kind. According to The Wrap, Barber is temporarily taking over the role of “Don” in “Kinky Boots” on Broadway beginning Monday, Jan. 21, 2019. He’ll be onstage at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre until March 3, when original cast member Daniel Stewart Sherman is set to return until the show’s final performance on April 7.
“I am so excited to be making my Broadway debut in ‘Kinky Boots,’” Barber said in a media release on Tuesday. “I was very fortunate to be part of the New York Giants for 10 years and feel incredibly lucky to be joining another New York institution: Broadway.”
Barber is currently the co-host of CBS Sports Radio’s national afternoon program, Tiki & Tierney. No word yet on whether or not 10 seasons in the NFL has him prepared to walk the stage in six-inch heels.
To see him for yourself, here’s a glimpse at the performance schedule for Kinky Boots: Tuesday at 7pm, Wednesday at 2pm and 8pm, Thursday at 7pm, Friday at 8pm, Saturday at 2pm and 8pm, and Sunday at 3pm.
