Kendall Jenner is the highest-paid model of 2018, Forbes revealed, after taking home a total of $22.5 million.
Jenner was able to bank large paydays during the year through her contracts with brands like Estee Lauder, Adidas and Calvin Klein. She edged out fellow models Chrissy Teigen and Rosie Huntington-Whitely (No. 3-tie; $11.5 million) who, like Jenner, have turned their enormous social media followings into marketable campaigns.
Hungtington-Whitely has expanded from representing products at British retailers Marks & Spencers into her own beauty website, Rose Inc., while Teigen has a line of cookware, two cookbooks and is the host of the popular musical TV show, Lip Sync Battle.
“Your social media page is your magazine of your life, so how you represent yourself matters,” President at IMG Models, Ivan Bart, told Forbes. “If you’re going to crossover you have to have a vision for it.”
Together, the world’s 10 highest-paid models banked a cumulative $113 million between June 1, 2017 and June 1, 2018, up a few million from 2017’s $109.5 million total.
The top 10, in order, were Jenner ($22.5 million), Karlie Kloss ($13 million), Teigen and Huntington-Whitely (tied with $11.5 million), Gisele Bundchen and Cara Delevingne (tied with $10 million), Gigi Hadid ($9.5 million), Bella Hadid and Joan Smalls (tied with $8.5 million) and Doutzen Kroes ($8 million).
