Is This Laser-Etched Glass the Next Hard Drive?

Scientists from the University of Southampton’s Optoelectronics Research Center have developed a way to store up to 360 terrabytes of data on a thumbnail-sized disc. Using a laser, the information is etched into the glass. Researchers believe the technology could be used to preserve library and museum archives.
