Fox News announced Wednesday that it’s standing in solidarity with CNN as the network attempts via lawsuit to get reporter Jim Acosta’s White House press credential reinstated.

“Fox News supports CNN in its legal effort to regain its White House reporter’s press credential. We intend to file an amicus brief with the U.S. District Court,” Fox News President Jay Wallace said in a statement. “Secret Service passes for working White House journalists should never be weaponized. While we don’t condone the growing antagonistic tone by both the president and the press at recent media avails, we do support a free press, access and open exchanges for the American people.”

Acosta had his credential suspended last week, CNN reports, after a terse exchange with the president. The lawsuit, which was filed against the Trump Administration and several of his aides on Tuesday, alleges the suspension violates Acosta’s First and Fifth Amendment rights.
