Jimmy Fallon on Monday night addressed the insults President Trump tweeted about him over the weekend, saying:
“When I saw that Trump insulted me on Twitter, I was gonna tweet back immediately, but I thought, ‘I have more important things to do,’” Fallon said. “Then I thought, ‘Wait, shouldn’t he have more important things to do?’ He’s the president of the—what are you doing? You’re the president! Why are you tweeting at me?”
President Trump got wind of a podcast Fallon recorded at The Hollywood Reporter, in which he expressed remorse over a now notorious interview he did with then-candidate Trump in 2016. During the appearance, Fallon playfully tousled Trump’s hair in a move many said “humanized” the candidate—and the president fired off a tweet on Sunday telling Fallon to “be a man” about it.
.@jimmyfallon is now whimpering to all that he did the famous “hair show” with me (where he seriously messed up my hair), & that he would have now done it differently because it is said to have “humanized” me-he is taking heat. He called & said “monster ratings.” Be a man Jimmy!
