Neighbors Suing Owner of "Flintstone" House: "It's an eyesore"

The beach houses of California may draw awe-inspired tourists from around the world, but there’s one home that chose a distinctively different style that’s compelled neighbors to take legal action.

The Flintstone house, as its known in northern California, sounds like exactly what it is — a home modeled after the classic children’s cartoon from the fictional town of Bedrock. The house was built in the 1970s by using a technique that involved spraying concrete to create curved walls, The Guardian reported. The resulting building looks just like the home that Fred and Wilma shared on the show, complete with dinosaurs in the yard.

Located in the upscale town of Hillsborough, the house has long been a thorn in the eye of local residents, and the decorating taste of Florence Fang, who bought the home in 2017, hasn’t exactly helped.

After taking over, Fang installed an enthusiastic sign proclaiming: “Yabba-dabba-doo” on the lawn and is now facing a lawsuit arguing that the home has become a public nuisance and that changes were made without permits.
