Audiences have another glimpse of Denzel Washington in his reprisal of Robert McCall, the ass-kicking vigilante he first embodied in 2014’s The Equalizer. But as Deadline notes, this is the first sequel of Washington’s career, and he’s taking the role — and criminals — on with a vengeance. Obliterating creeps who abused a woman and embarking on a quest to avenge the death of his friend and colleague Susan Plummer (Melissa Leo), Washington hasn’t slowed down a bit if the new trailer is to be believed.
Directed by Richard Wenk and featuring Pedro Pascal, Ashton Sanders and Bill Pullman, the movie hits theaters July 20.
