Another Book Coming Out That Describes Chaos During Trump’s First Year

The book, written by Howard Kurtz, will be released at the end of January.

The White House has barely stopped reeling from Michael Wolff’s exposé, Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House, but they won’t have much time to relax. Another life-in-the-White-House book is about to drop, this one by Howard Kurtz, who hosts Fox New’s Media Buzz. Media Madness: Donald Trump, The Press, And The War Over The Truth offers a portrait of the chaotic White House, where aides scramble to respond to the president’s impulses and are left writing policy to fit his tweets. The Washington Post read excerpts of the new book and said that though Kurtz paints a largely positive picture of Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump and his son-in-law Jared Kushner, he does note that Trump repeatedly worried about whether they were making the right decision to move to Washington and take jobs in his administration. Kurtz also recounts an Oval Office meeting where Stephen Bannon — Trump’s former chief strategist and a key source for Fire & Fury — blamed Ivanka for a leak and Trump took Bannon’s side, saying, “Baby, I think Steve’s right here.” Kurtz’s account seems to offer a more flattering portrayal of the White House than other media accounts, but his book still shows the White House struggling to perform basic tasks and advisers reacting to “the whims of a hard-to-control president” writes The Post. The book is due Jan. 29.
