CBS Baltimore is reporting that the Maryland Court of Special Appeals has granted Adnan Syed a new trial after his case was featured on the popular true-crime podcast, “Serial,” and became a subject of national attention.

Millions of listeners tuned in to hear the decade-old story and began to question whether or not Syed was guilty, an accomplice, or whether or not he was given a fair trial when he was convicted in 2000 of killing his ex-girlfriend and burying her in a shallow grave.
