From the driving, to the parking, to the not knowing where to drive or park, dinner in LA is harder than it should be. That’s why we created Dinner Plan — your three-step itinerary to a damn good time.
This week: A Roy Choi throwdown and damn good cocktails. Here’s your plan.
Check-In
Okay, let’s just assume we’re getting sideways tonight. And staying put is easy when you can stumble a few floors up to one of The Line Hotel’s raw, artsy rooms. You can rest your purty head on their neat, fluffy beds, and set the curtain to auto-open when you’re ready to rise — which is easy once you see the Hollywood Hills pop in those magnificent floor-to-ceiling windows.
Eat
You’re dining in a greenhouse tonight. On The Line’s pool level. Commissary is Chef Roy Choi’s take on the poolside BBQ. On order: grilled lettuces, carrots, a Wagyu and pork burger, and succulent scallops. Matthew Biancaniello’s drinks are served in Tupperware — as though that bourbon and blueberry is making it to tomorrow. Methinks not.
Drink. Late.
After dinner, head downstairs to the Lobby Bar, another creation of Choi/Biancaniello. Scantily clad travelers mingle beneath a bar with gold balloons on the ceiling. The beat is Biggie Smalls and the banquettes sit like islands amid the throngs. Plan on dancing. And drinking a Scotch with grapefruit bitters.
