The Dukes of Hazzard Will Crash Land at Your Wedding for a Small Fee

Even the General Lee has a day job. Here's proof.

If you live in northeast Ohio or a nearby area, you can hire the Dukes to showcase a series of stunts honoring the Dukes of Hazzard at your wedding, birthday party or bar mitzvah … Daisy included. Detroit is about an hour’s drive from the Ohio state line, so when the organizers of Autorama 2017 decided they wanted to kick off the festival with a bang, they asked the Dukes to swing through.

Once the appropriate safety measures were taken, founder Raymond Kohn got things started by gassing a replica of the General Lee up to 55 MPH and then barreling up and off a five-foot ramp. The jump was good — the landing on asphalt, however, was not. Kohn’s ‘69 Dodge Charger soared 134 feet (at one point reaching 25 feet off the ground) before crash-landing with a bang that left its driver shaken and its front wheels in shambles. According to the 39-year-old stuntman, it was all part of the act, the Detroit Free Press reported.

“It was a hard landing, don’t get me wrong,” Kohn said. “But the car flew just the way we intended. When it comes down on the nose, that’s what we’re looking for. The car tips up like a beer can. If it lands on all four wheels, that’s when you feel the most pain.”

Given the harsh landing, we’d bet Kohn tipped a few beers cans of his own afterwards.
