Ducati Just Announced Three New Scramblers for 2023

Sporty designs meet refined performance

Ducati Scrambler
Ducati's introduced its new line of Scramblers.

Beginning in 2015, Ducati hearkened back to its own history with the Scrambler line of motorcycles — though unlike the off-road bikes that used the name in the 1960s and 1970s, these are designed to do the bulk of their travel on roads. As Autoblog recently reported, Ducati recently announced the latest iteration of the Scrambler — along with a host of different configurations that offer a radically different experience from motorcycle to motorcycle.

In practice, that means three distinct Scrambler models — Icon, Full Throttle and Nightshift. All three share some common elements, with Ducati noting that this version of the Scrambler is 8.8 pounds lighter than its predecessor. Some of that comes from changes to the Desmodue engine, which is 5.5 pounds lighter in this iteration, and features a smaller clutch, designed to be “softer in operation.”

This version of the Scrambler also features a greater degree of traction control, including one option designed for use on wet roads. As for the three models, the Icon features an increased level of control over the motorcycle, while the Full Throttle features a “sportier” — in Ducati’s phrasing — riding experience, while the Nightshift prioritizes a more classical design.

The Scrambler Icon has a starting price of $10,995, while the Scrambler Full Throttle begins at $12,195. Both are scheduled to arrive at dealers in the spring of 2023. You’ll need to wait a little longer for the Scrambler Nightshift to arrive. That has a summer 2023 release date, and also starts at $12,195.
