Any "A-Team" fans out there? Have we got a van for you.

If I say “A-Team” and you think of 19-year-old Ed Sheeran, you can tune out now. But if you think of Mr. T busting through the door of a cantina in overalls and dozens of gold necklaces, then have we got an auction for you.

One of six officially licensed A-Team vans is on the auction block at Worldwide Auctioneers’ annual Scottsdale sale, coming up on January 23. Yes, the auction is still taking place despite the pandemic, but it’s being moved from Arizona to the auction house’s home base in Auburn, Indiana, and interested parties can also bid online or over the phone.

Now, this 1979 Chevrolet van (as it’s listed, though it’s branded GMC) certainly looks the part, but what does it mean that it’s “officially licensed”? According to the listing, there were six vehicles that Universal Studios approved to send on A-Team promotional tours throughout the country (we’re talking events like auto shows), and this is one of them.

Yes, that means this wasn’t used during filming, but on the other hand, does that mean this replica van is in pristine condition? That it’s never been driven, only plopped down for fans to take photos with? Not quite. As shots of the dashboard show, this adventure-mobile has a little over 90,000 miles on the odometer. On the plus side, for having that much mileage, being ostensibly driven around the country for years and being 41 years old, it looks plenty driveable.

Does this prop machine gun in the back make you more or less likely to bid?

But will the lucky new owner actually take this thing on the road? Probably not. One other feature of this particular lot is what appears to be four prop guns, including a fake mounted machine gun in the back, ready to blow away any pursuers after throwing open the doors.

In true A-Team fashion, of course, it will be in a comical, bloodless, non-lethal way.
