Amazon’s Prime Day even, which actually last two days, begins on Oct. 13.

It’s the biggest sale of the year for the shopping giant, featuring up to a million deals, updated constantly and spread out through dozens of categories and over several mediums (Amazon’s site, Amazon Live, the app, Alexa devices, etc.).

It’s a lot of information, and we’ll be there covering the worthy deals when they happen — and, to make it more complicated, some deals are already popping up early. You can use our “What Is Prime Day” guide to give you a rough layout of what to expect, though we’ll be doing updates as the actual shopping period gets closer.

A few new things and some highlights this year:

  • Amazon will offer a $10 credit to use on Prime Day to members who spend $10 on items sold by select small businesses in Amazon’s store
  • As always, anyone can join Prime or start a 30-day free trial at amazon.com/primeday to participate in Prime Day
  • Now through October 31, eligible Prime members who apply and are approved for the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature Card will instantly receive a $100 Gift Card.
  • This year, Walmart’s pitched a competitor: Big Save, which launches Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. ET.
Echo Show
Amazon devices like the Echo Show will be the top sellers again this year

A look at last year’s bestsellers (from InsideHook readers) doesn’t offer a ton of surprises. Amazon products dominate the list, taking five of the ten spots. Gillette did take the top, and you guys seem to like tools, wireless chargers and … nail clippers.

Basically, you’re thinking small, and that’s good! That’s where the deals are centered, particularly if you like Amazon-owned tech products (Echo, Fire TV, etc.)

The top 10 buys from IH readers in 2019 on Prime Day are below. Right now almost none of these products currently have a discount, but it seems safe to assume they will.
