And man oh man are they relaxing

Something to be said for “getting away from it all.”

Problem is, no matter how much a man attempts to remove himself, “it all” has a way of creeping back in.

Perhaps it’s time to take it a step further.

Where to do that?

Lift: Next Level Floats, the new Carroll Gardens spa where you can experience an hour of weightless bliss inside state-of-the-art flotation tanks, now accepting appointments.

Lift specializes in R.E.S.T., or “Restricted Environmental Stimulation Therapy.” That is to say, sensory deprivation.

Contained within their sunny studio of glass and exposed brick are two kinds of tanks: “Evolution Float Pods” (think giant eggs with clamshell lids) as well as “Ocean Float Rooms” with seven-foot ceilings complete with starlight effect.

Both are filled with water infused with 1,000 pounds of Epsom salt, which allows you to remain completely buoyant with no effort whatsoever.

So after a quick shower you submerge yourself, turn out the lights, and then … just … relax.

The water is calibrated to your body temp, resulting in a pleasant out-of-body feeling. And be it with soothing music and fake stars overhead or complete silence and total darkness, you can bet on one thing:

“It all” will be the furthest thing from your mind.
