With Cyber Monday fast approaching, there are all sorts of deals cropping up online, ripe for the picking. This is not one of them.
Sotheby’s International Realty has listed Poland’s Sowiniec Polo Club and Manor—connected by a strip of highway to Berlin and Warsaw—for $52,709,256.
But you get with that massive price tag is another story altogether. The 689-acre estate, which is located about 26 miles from Poznan—which is a Polish cultural hub in its own right—is located in a national park on the Warta River. With its own private airstrip, helipad, polo arena, and marina, the estate might as well be its own little thriving European city.
For the serious polo player, Sowiniec boasts the most comprehensive, year-round practice and match-play facilities within miles. In the winter months, there’s a 131-by-66-foot indoor arena for practice; and from early June to September, the manor hosts professional match play, including the Sowiniec Polo Cup on two separate polo fields (each 900 x 500 feet) and a lighted arena (328 x 164 feet).
The grounds come with quite a bit of add-ons. There’s a stable with 60 horses; a walking machine that accommodates up to eight of them; an oak-paneled indoor tennis court; a carriage house; and over 3,000 square feet of garage space (you know, for your luxury car collection).
But that’s the only accoutrement. The 35,000-square-foot, four-floor main building includes nine fully furnished suites with private bathrooms on the second and third floors. The first floor features a giant ballroom, with a hand-painted ceiling and crystal chandelier; a cigar lounge and library; a mahogany paneled dining room; kitchen; study; and indoor swimming pool.
