Vanderhall Edison Three-Wheeler Arrives before Morgan EV3

This past week at CES, Utah-based Vanderhall Motor Works officially debuted its all-electric Vanderhall Edison², beating Morgan Motor Company who have been teasing its own electric three-wheeler

A reverse trike with two wheels up front and one in the back, the Edison² packs a 30-kilowatt lithium-ion battery that offers a range of 200 miles on a single charge and a pair of AC motors that serve up a top speed of 105 MPH and a 0 to 60 time of four seconds.

Weighing in at just 1,400 pounds, the torquey two-seater — which has specs that are basically on par with is gas-powered and fun-to-drive cousin the Venice — is available in four colors.

“EVs have amazing performance advantages,” Vanderhall marketing director Daniel Boyer told Electrek. “Offering an electric powertrain is in line with Vanderhall’s focus on innovative, effortless performance. Our Venice model is already incredibly nimble, and the Edison² is the quickest Vanderhall we have ever produced.”

The new model is priced at just $34,950 and is slated to hit the market in the second quarter of this year. Morgan’s electric trike, on the other hand, will see showrooms by the third quarter.
