Ray-Ban’s Newest Frame Is a Future First-Ballot Hall of Famer

These shades'll make boys into men, men into handsomer men

When a classic gets a redux, things can go one of two ways:

An admirable homage that pushes the standard forward, or a baffling update that everyone wishes never happened.

Ray-Ban’s new Double Bridge collection is the former. Inspired by the Gatsby, the new eyewear takes the proportions of that thick-rimmed, round silhouette and drastically slims it down, making for a contemporary all-metal silhouette that still channels the effortless style that made the original so iconic.

The frame comes in black or gold, and the front features a double bridge and acetate lenses in either a classic green or copper gradient. It’s by no means flashy. Instead, it’s minimalist eyewear at its finest.
