Got a Jeep Lying Around? These Guys Will Turn It Into a Custom Trailcat, Hemi and All.

Price and street legality are just pesky details

If something seems too good to be true, it probably is, so when we heard that Dakota Customs would build a version of Jeeps’s one-off Trailcat model for $56,000, we knew there was a catch.

There is, and it’s a pretty big one … you need to provide your own Jeep.

Using a customer-provided Wrangler, what the South Dakota-based custom shop will do for $56k is supply a 707-HP Hellcat engine and modify the Jeep so the supercharged V8 will work.

In addition to the hemi, the Hellcat conversion package also includes a Walbro dual fuel pump system, a CSF custom race radiator, a stainless steel Borla exhaust and an intercooler system.

With a total cost that’ll top $100,000 (Wrangler included), there’s no doubt the Hellcat package is pricey, especially for an off-road-only vehicle that’s not guaranteed to pass emissions tests.

But after hearing the Hellcat purr, it could be worth every penny.
