Gwyneth Paltrow Isn't Done Acting

Gwyneth Paltrow wants you to know that her days on the silver screen aren’t behind her.

The actress turned Goop CEO reminded fans that she’s actually still an actress and CEO in a recent Today show interview.

“I’ve never said that I am quitting acting,” Paltrow told Savannah Guthrie during her appearance on Monday’s show. While the actress maintained that Goop is currently her “full time passion” she added that that she’s still able to take on the occasional acting job when “it works out around my children and my Goop life.”

“I think I’m just not focused on full-time acting right now,” she said.

While Paltrow may still dabble in the industry part-time, she is an officially retired veteran of the Marvel universe. Meanwhile, as Vanity Fair noted, her last non-Marvel appearance on the big screen was back in 2015, when she costarred with Johnny Depp in the critically-panned box-office flop Mortdecai.

This isn’t the first time Paltrow has spoken about her evolving relationship with acting. Last December, she reflected on her early success in the industry in an interview with The Wall Street Journal, noting that her shift to focus on Goop was partly motivated by a desire to continue seeking other forms of achievement.

“I felt like I had hit all of those benchmarks. I’m very competitive with myself and I thought, well, what am I supposed to do now?” she said.

Despite the actress’s pivot to the wellness industry, she does have a new acting gig in the works, according to Vanity Fair. Paltrow will reportedly star alongside Ben Platt, Barbara Streisand, and Jessica Lange in The Politician, Ryan Murphy’s upcoming musical Netflix series.

Paltrow also made a recent appearance on SNL, combining her two passions in her role as a perplexed Goop employee in a Weekend Update skit.
