Take Care of Valentine’s Day Right Now With This Great Sale on Roses

Better bouquets, better prices if you order today

For several years I’ve been sending romantic or I’m-sorry bouquets from newer flower services that make promises about being “eco-friendly” and “farm-to-table” or even “sourced from volcanoes in Ecuador” (love ya, Bouqs!).

Those flowers are great.

And yet … the roses that have lasted the longest and received the most positive reaction? The ones I’ve ordered from 1-800-Flowers.

If you ignore their site’s constant upsell (I don’t need a Harry & David’s food basket or a tub o’ popcorn with my order, thanks), 1-800 wins out on variety and speed — some of the more artisanal brands I’ve used can’t do same-day delivery, and/or are limited in what they can offer based on my zip code.

Plus, I can usually find a nice deal with 1-800, including this one: Right now, the company is offering 25% off for Valentine’s Day (use the code LOVEEARLY) as part of an “order early” incentive — get your flowers ordered a month in advance, pick a delivery time from a six-day window (2/9 – 2/14) and then sit back and relax.

Bonus: If you don’t know what to get, use 1-800’s chatbot GWYN, which is run by IBM’s A.I. Watson and actually considered pretty helpful.
