Let us now praise boutique hotels.

All the comforts of home. All the romance of an escape. The feeling, in each unique room, that you’re stepping into someone else’s well-appointed life.

Want your pillows fluffed like that? Check into the swanky new Hotel Covell, just now open.

This is where you go for a romantic liaison.

Sequestered in a 1930s manse on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Feliz, Hotel Covell is a truly eclectic wonderland of rooms for rent.

The hotel is based on the life and times of George Covell, who hailed from Oklahoma — just like owner and Eastside Establishment founder Dustin Lancaster.

Lancaster also owns the Bar Covell, a neighborhood favorite housed on the first floor.

Each room — designed by Sally Breer, of CO-Mingle and Shopclass — depicts a different phase of George’s life, from boyhood in Oklahoma to his golden years in Los Angeles.

You should stay in Room Four or Room Five.

The former is a suite with a record player, spacious bathroom with a clawfoot tub, and space to entertain. The latter has an unobstructed view of Griffith Park.

All rooms are stocked with Malin+Goetz products and a mid-century fridge stocked with local eats and drinks. Each bed is lined with comfy linens from Parachute.

And outside, you’ve got the delightfully walkable and restaurant-laden Los Feliz.

Book it.
