Unless you’re traveling with the fam, you probably don’t need much.

A couple beds, a roof, a view. Throw in a lake, even better. These Norwegian holiday huts nail that formula.

Designed by Stinessen Arkitektur, they’re part of the Manshausen Island Resort in northern Norway. The 18th-century stone jetties on which the huts are constructed recall the port’s history as a stopping-off point between the Lofoten Islands, to the north, and the cosmopolitan cities of the south.

Each hut has two bedrooms. Corian kitchens. And views for miles.

You’ve even got WiFi in a communal main building. Bonus: It’s 3G. So it’s there … but you won’t want to use it.

Norway’s great in the summer — but book before the spring equinox for maximum Northern Lights.
