Bud and Breakfast sounds like a concept a friend group comes up with while hotboxing a Toyota only to quickly forget about it, tossing it on the pile next to all their other failed startups and movie plots. But the site, a repository of 540 420-friendly homes, cabins and bungalows around the world, is very real and ready to book.
How does it work? A lot like Airbnb, only the selection is obviously far more limited, allowing you to search for stays across Canada, Jamaica, Uruguay, Spain and select spots in America (Alaska, Chicago, Colorado, Hawaii, Las Vegas, Maine, Vermont). Some, like Eastport, Maine’s “Rose Bud” cottage, include weed as a complimentary amenity; others, like this eco bus camp on the Big Island in Hawaii, go further than just the bud, promising a Woody Harrelson-esque, toes-in-the-sand, toke-under-a-palm-tree lifestyle, if only for a few days.
It’s worth pointing out that a number of the listings have no tobacco and/or alcohol policies; if that perfect company name wasn’t clear enough, the brand of relaxation here is decidedly green-centric. That niche, though, means availability is pretty promising on most listings. Our favorite? Casa Wirth in Uruguay. The back garden looks like a delightful spot to, uh, ruminate.
