Left-leaning late night host Seth Meyers took time out of his show to skewer Democratic spin, hypocrisy, and the way the party continues to unsuccessfully run campaigns.
His sermon aired on a night in which Republican Karen Handel beat out Democrat Jon Ossoff for Congress in the 2017 special election in Georgia’s 6th congressional district.
The show, which was taped before the election results were available, highlighted the fact that Democrats would react to any outcome of the election the exact same way — but with varying levels of spin. Considering how often Meyers has poked fun at the president and the Republican party in recent months, it was a rare salvo aimed at the other side of the aisle.
