The golf world has experienced a sea of change in recent years, with a massive influx of new players during the pandemic. Course owners and retailers were suddenly jammed with rookies, and starter golf club sets flew off the store shelves.

The resulting democratization of a game traditionally indulged in by those of a certain class has created a market for golf leisure-wear with a more youthful and fashion-forward bent.

Gone are the days of humdrum, single-color polo shirts and billowing khaki pants. In swept a hurricane of bold patterns and shades that knocked out the country club set and their stodgy dress code policies. Jeans are still a no-go at the swanky private clubs, so don’t roll up to the first tee in your finest Japanese selvedge denim. But there are still opportunities to pull off a cool golf fit.

Traditional golf apparel brands — Callaway, Adidas, etc. — are adapting to the influx of younger, brasher players, which means they have fresh gear and clothes for the new golfing crowd. There are also new companies like Devereux and Peter Millar who aren’t afraid to push the envelope with bolder colors and designs. Hell, even Drake is in the golf game with Nocta, his own golf inspired-fashion line produced by Nike.

Below, some of the best fall golf apparel and gear for new and experienced golfers alike looking to keep playing through season.

It has a breathable, anti-microbial fabric and a modern oversized relaxed fit. You should heed the brand’s sound advice, “Play More, Complain Less.”

Like we mentioned before, denim is still a no-go, but fear not: you can still keep casual in Callaway’s lightweight, moisture-wicking trousers. It’s a more traditional golf brand, but they have updated fits and styles like this denim-inspired 5-pocket pant. The tapered fit and Elastane/polyester blend help will make it easier for you to fire those hips like the tour pros do.
