After spending his Saturday speaking during his Hall of Fame induction ceremony at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, Terrell Owens spend his Sunday on the football field.
Owens, who skipped the trip to Canton to speak at his alma mater, is attempting to make a comeback to pro football and, at this point, the CFL’s Saskatchewan Roughriders are the only team that’s even remotely interested.
So, instead of relaxing at home in his new gold jacket, the 44-year-old was one of a handful of hopefuls working out at a high school on Sunday afternoon for the Roughriders.
During the workout, the NFL Hall of Famer ran pass routes for more than an hour with a former Central Florida quarterback throwing and a former South Carolina defensive back in coverage.

One of the cooler moments today by @terrellowens was taking time out of his tryout to run alongside former South Carolina DB Rico McWilliams to help push him during his 40 time. “I know I’m truly blessed and I can still play the game,” Owens said after the workout. “What I did out there today is just a small little snippet of what I can do. I just appreciate coach for the opportunity. I guess he wanted to assess and see where I am physically.”

Owens fared fairly well by all accounts, but it’s worth mentioning he was the one who asked for the tryout. The team only granted his request because they happened to be in the States about 30 miles west of Chattanooga.
