Even though reviews have been somewhat mixed, supplies of the whiskey from mixed martial artist Conor McGregor have already run dry.
Not usually one to admit a mistake, the UFC star apologized to fans after his Proper Twelve whiskey has sold six months worth of stock in 10 days.
“I don’t usually see reason to apologize,” said the MMA champ, according to the The New York Post. “We are producing well over 300,000 crates now.”
That means “many hundreds of thousands of bottles” will be headed to the U.S. and Ireland to restock shelves in December, according to a source.
In an earlier interview with Entrepreneur, the 30-year-old said he was “humbled” by the reaction to his punchy booze.
“The reaction to Proper No. Twelve has been absolutely amazing,” McGregor said. “I’m extremely humbled and thrilled that consumers are as excited about Proper Twelve as I am! Hundreds of thousands of people from all over the world have been reaching out asking where they can purchase a bottle. I am lucky to have the best fans in the business, and their support and loyalty has definitely played a role in Proper Twelve’s success. In 10 days we sold six months’ worth of product.”
